Pattern of admission and outcome of neonates admitted to neonatal intensive care unit of alobaid pediatrics teaching hospital-North Kordofan state, Sudan

Background: Neonatal morbidity and mortality in our country is high; In order to improve neonatal outcome, it crucial identify the areas where health care can be improved. Therefore, studying pattern of admission outcome among neonates a valuable tool auditing hospital performance. Materials Methods: Descriptive cross sectional based study. This study was covered all fulfills case definition; admitted NICU Alobaid pediatric teaching during period from November 2020 April. Results: show with sample size 750, most them at first 24 hours birth (94%), (70.8%) were term almost half had weight less than 2.5 kg (42.1%). The majority delivered via caesarian-section (62.8%). Moreover, common cause prematurity especially RDS (29%), sepsis (16.5%) TTN (14%).About tow third discharge on good condition (70%) overall 152 (20.4%). Additionally gestational age, maternal complication antenatal follow-up found significantly associated outcome. Conclusion: prematurity, death, these etiologies are preventable up some extent, if detected earlier effectively treated reduce mortality. As (62.8%) caesarian-section, revisit for indications cesarean deliveries may help
